Wyatt will be 5 months old this coming Sunday.  Time seems to fly by even faster with Wyatt than it did with Porter.  Wyatt rolled over from back to front for the first time on June 5th when he was 3-1/2 months old (Porter rolled over from front to back when he was 3-1/2 months old and from back to front when he was 4-1/2 months old).  I still haven't seen Wyatt roll from his front to his back, but maybe that's because I don't put him on him tummy much.  We noticed his first tooth coming in on June 26th when he was 4-1/2 months old but it hasn't come through all of the way yet (Porter's first tooth came in when he was 6-1/2 months old).  Wyatt has found his feet and loves to play with them and try to put them in his mouth.  He can hold his head up really well and loves the exersaucer and watching TV.  He is already wearing 12 month clothes.  I cant find Porter's old clothes out of storage fast enough!  On July 1st Tom gave Wyatt his Baby Blessing in church.  Wyatt is going to be a great boy and man.  I can just tell.   On the 4th of July we went to the parade in the morning and to the fireworks at night.  Porter loved the parade.  He got up and marched back and forth like he was in the parade too.  Both Porter and Wyatt loved the fireworks!  We had such a great time.  Two days later Porter got sick with the Hand Foot Mouth virus though and we have been trying to keep the boys separated ever since so Wyatt doesn't get sick too.   I cant wait until Porter and Wyatt can really play together like friends.   I think its time to start the sleep schedule for Wyatt because he is starting to want to wake up during the night - not good.  Being a mom is exhausting but very rewarding.  I love my little family!

Porter & Wyatt Update

Porter is 2-1/2 years old.  He is so smart and he amazes me every day with something new he says or does.  He understands so much now and can really express his mind.  When he watches TV and they ask a question he responds back, usually with the right answer.  He has his favorite TV shows and knows their songs and sayings. He has his favorite songs and even though he skips or mumbles some of the words he can sing them.  His favorite songs are Itsy Bitsy Spider, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Row Row Row Your Boat, and Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam.  He knows where we are going when we turn down someone's street that he knows and he tells us where he wants to go.  He calls out the color of the lights for us and tells us to stop when there is a red light and go when there is a green light.  Tom hates my back seat driving but Porter can get away with it and still be cute.  Porter is so imaginative.  He can play by himself and make up stories for the trains, usually following the TV shows he's seen.  He even does the voices.  He has a really low voice and a really high voice he uses when he is playing.  He is a good friend and really loves to play with other kids.  He is usually kind and doesn't take other kids toys away most of the time.  Porter is so cute.  I couldn't love him more.

Wyatt is 3-1/2 months old.  He can hold up his head now and reach for toys.  Unfortunately, a lot of our baby toys are in storage.  Wyatt is such a good baby though.  He sleeps so good during the night, only getting up once or twice to eat.  He has the best smile.  I still don't think I have a picture that does it justice.  When he wakes up in the morning his face just lights up when he sees me.  It melts my heart.  He is so cute and I cant believe he is my baby.  I try to soak it all in and remember the moments when I am holding him because I know they won't last long and before I know it I'll be looking back on these moments and missing them.  I wish I could be home with him all of the time.

March Two Three Four

Porter is such a little copy cat and he is a good follower. So Tom has decided to enlist him in military training. Porter loves to do this.

2 months old

Wyatt is 2 months old! He's growing so fast but I love it. He has always had good neck control since he was born. Now he can hold his head up for periods of time by himself. The first month he slept most of the time which was nice as we adjusted to having two kids. In fact, for the first month I was able to take him to work with me. Now he is awake most of the day and he is coming alive with personality. He can focus on you when you look at him and when you are lucky he will give you a smile that will melt your heart. I can already tell his personality is going to be different than Porter's. I think he will be more calm and laid back. When he was first born I thought he looked just like Porter but now I can see so many differences I don't think they look anything alike. Wyatt has fuller lips, rounder cheeks, a wider nose, and his ears lay flatter against his head. Both Porter and Wyatt have beautiful blue eyes. Wyatt spits up a lot but I'm not too worried because he seems to be gaining weight just fine. He is a little chunk. I fall more in love with him every day. Porter calls Wyatt "Brother". The jealousy has gotten worse. On Saturday, as I was holding Wyatt, Porter told me "No Brother." But then on Sunday morning when Porter woke up he asked me, "Where's Brother." I pointed to the bassinet with Wyatt in it and Porter said excitedly, "I found him!" Maybe he was worried I actually listened to him the day before and got rid of Wyatt.

Porter's Garden

We are renting our neighbor's guest house right now as we finish our house. They have a beautiful house and a beautiful yard and they have been so kind to us and our kids. Christine planted a garden a couple weeks ago and Porter helped her. Porter was so in to the garden that Christine has given him a quarter of her garden and she made a sign that says "Porter's Garden" to hang on the pole facing his section of the garden. Porter loves to go out to his garden and dig. Everett came over one Saturday and also helped dig in Porter's garden. Boys and dirt just go together.
